  3. Deepening in the biological treatment of liquid waste (Microbial growth kinetics, Mass balances, Aerobic microbial oxidation, Nitrification, Denitrification, Phosphorus removal)
  4. Design of activated sludge systems
  5. Process optimization (Selection of operational changes, Automation and on-line monitoring)
  6. Application of computer programs in process optimization
  7. Anaerobic digestion
  8. Sludge treatment
  9. Sludge disposition
