The course focuses on the description through mathematical equations of the main physical processes in the coastal zone and the coastal sea, such as the transport and dispersion of pollutants from industrial plant diffusers or WWTPs, the dynamics (stratification/mixing) of the water column and its effect on submarine plumes and the veins, the anemogenic, barotropic and baroclinic circulation. The students will be informed:
a) about the existing online databases, their download, processing and inclusion in mathematical simulations,
b) the application of selected mathematical models for specific applications,
c) the calibration and certification of mathematical models using field data and the development of management scenarios,
d) the writing of technical reports for the presentation and analysis of simulation results.
