The content of the course includes the following:
Laws for describing flow in geological formations and porous media: Darcy’s law, Forchheimer’s law. Simulation of hydraulic behavior in loose and fractured aquifers: The linear and non-linear heat equation, discrete and continuous dual porosity equations, alternative approaches. Well hydraulics. Interactions between water bodies and aquifers. Flow inside permeable dams. Contaminant and heat transfer simulation. Presentation of application studies.
